Bob has been a parishioner at St. Joseph the Worker since its inception, joining the newly formed parish with his parents Lionel and Amanda Gagne in 1955. Bob has stayed with the parish ever since and is gratefully considered a Founding Member of the parish. Throughout his time in our parish Bob has donated thousands of hours in a labor of love for the community because "he believes in the parish".
Outside of the parish community, Bob worked for 20 years as a computer operator and analyst; first with Edgcomb Steel (14.5 years) and then at Digital Equipment Corporation (5.5 years). Bob currently works as a delivery driver for an auto-parts store in Nashua.
Here are just some of the ways Bob has grown God's many gifts:
St Joseph's Paper Drive: this was Bob's first volunteer activity at St Joe's: started when he was in grammar school.
Art + Environment Committee: 31+ years. Current Committee Chair
Liturgy Committee: more than 30 years beginning with Fr. Leo LeBlanc.
Eucharistic Minister: 35 + years beginning with Fr. LaFond.
Communion to the home bound: an ongoing ministry.
Lector for over 30 years: Sunday and Weekday Masses, Stations of the Cross each Friday of Lent
Funeral Mass Server: a dedicated service performed with great reverence
Mass Coordinator: ensures that all Mass servers and liturgy needs are in place for the 8am Mass each week.
Sacristan Coordinator: maintains and orders all liturgy supplies ( hosts, wine, candles, incense, purifiers etc.) for the church.
Usher Service: Bob's longest serving ministry to the parish at over 40 years.
Campaign for Retired Priests: fundraising assistance.
New Building liturgy-related planning: Committee member with Sr. Laurie responsible for the design and acquisition of the altar, ambo, baptistry, pews and other features and fixtures of the Church.
For his tireless efforts, our parish gratefully recognizes all that Bob has done and contin-ues to do to build up God's Kingdom among us and we ask God's blessings upon him.
