Tom and Paula (Desjardins) Moran are 2nd generation parishioners of St. Joseph the Worker Parish. They were both born and baptized in 1962, and were married at the Lake Street church in 1986 by Fr. Don Lafond. Except for their college years, they have always lived in Nashua. Their only child, Patrick, was born in 1987, he is currently a school teacher at St. Paul’s Boys Choir School in Cambridge MA, teaching History and English to middle school students. Patrick and his wife Felicia live in Boston.

Tom is a licensed mechanical engineer. After 20-plus years of the 2 hour per day commute, he started his own company 10 years ago called Jump Start Manufacturing, which specializes in validation of Class 2 (external to the body) medical devices, although his client base also includes non-medical companies as well. His passion and specialty is machine design. Paula is a 30-plus year employee at BAE Systems in Nashua, and has held various positions in Production Control, Finance and Program Management.

Tom is currently chair of the Facilities Committee and also serves as the Grand Knight in the St. Joseph Council of the Knights of Columbus. The Facilities Committee is driving all the capital improvement projects here at the Parish, currently focusing on the roof, HVAC upgrades and bathroom upgrades. The Knights of Columbus do significant outreach here at the Parish hosting blood drives and various fundraisers to support their college scholarship and Adopt a Family programs. Tom was also on the planning committee that oversaw the construction of our new facility at 777 West Hollis.

Paula is a long-time member of the Finance Committee and has been chair for the past several years. She also spent numerous years working with kids in the RCIC program and also adults in the RCIA program. As luck would have it, she also volunteers for various events hosted by the Knight of Columbus.

Although Tom travels extensively for work, their favorite pastimes include the motorcycle, movie nights at Chunky’s, civic engagements and hanging out with their bulldog Daisy. After 54 years in the Parish they are hoping and planning to stick around even longer!

Our parish gratefully recognizes all that Tom and Paula have done and continue to do to build up God’s Kingdom among us and we ask God’s blessings upon them and their loved ones.
