Dispensation from Sunday and Holy Day obligation to attend Mass is lifted effective June 19-20, 2021

Hello Dear Parish Family,

On Tuesday, June 8th Bishop Libasci announced the lifting of the dispensation from the Sunday and Holy Day obligation to attend Mass, effective this coming weekend, June 19th-20th. Please click on the link below to read Bishop Libasci’s letter.

“The obligation does not apply to those who are ill; those who have been recently exposed to COVID or any other communicable illness; those who are confined to their homes or to hospitals or other facilities due to illness, infirmity, frailty, or age; and those who are not yet able to be vaccinated, due to age or any health consideration.”

“Participation in the communal celebration of the Sunday Eucharist is a testimony of belonging and of being faithful to Christ and his Church. The faithful give witness by this to their communion in faith and charity. Together they testify to God’s holiness and their hope of salvation. They strengthen one another under the guidance of the Holy Spirit” (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 2182).

We are extremely grateful to all of you for your support throughout this unprecedented time and we are excited to be gathering in person without restrictions. To those of you who have not been with us in person, we look forward to welcoming you back to the celebration of the Mass with great joy! If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us.

God’s blessings and peace,

Bishop Christian and the Parish Staff
